We will be working with Ed, co-founder of the Black Swimming Association, on the promotion of his groundbreaking new documentary series
Consumer PR agency Palamedes is pleased to once again be working with Ed Accura, co-founder of the Black Swimming Association.
Mr Accura, who is also the author of A Visual Journey of Blacks Can’t Swim and the maker of the Blacks Can’t Swim series, has reappointed the agency to promote his groundbreaking new documentary series, Changing the Narrative.
Scheduled for release in October during Black History Month, the series seeks to ignite greater engagement in aquatic activities within black and Asian communities. – ensuring swimming is recognised as both a lifestyle and a vital life skill, breaking the cycle of low participation in water activities.
Recent data from Sport England’s 2024 Active Lives survey reveals that nearly 97 per cent of black adults and 96 per cent of Asian adults do not swim regularly.
Similarly, 82 per cent of black children and 79 per cent of Asian children in England do not regularly participate in swimming.
Tragically, black children in England are up to five times more likely to drown compared to their White counterparts.
Inspired by Mr Accura’s personal experiences, Changing The Narrative will premiere on YouTube on September 29, 2024, with new episodes every Sunday during Black History Month.
