Mr Mosaku, author of new business guide “I Don’t Understand”: Navigating Unconscious Bias in the Workplace, says that by posing this simple question, those affected by or accused of racial bias can quickly and easily determine if unconscious bias is or isn’t at play.
This empowers the victim while helping the perpetrator to understand and change their own behaviour, even if the bias or its effects was unintentional.
Mr Mosaku – whose book provides a proven, practical tool kit for navigating unconscious bias in the workplace based on his groundbreaking ‘IDU? Methodology’ – warns that traditional approaches to dealing with workplace bias are not only ineffective but are creating a growing “diversity and exclusion nightmare in the corporate world”.
