Bestselling author & Top Gear director Brian Klein is interviewed on BBC Radio 5 Live
BAFTA-award winning TV director and bestselling author Brian Klein has been interviewed on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Mr Klein, Top Gear’s current and longest serving director, appeared on the national station’s 5 Live Drive show to speak about the iconic motoring show as well as his remarkable transition to one of Britain’s most successful and acclaimed new novelists.
His interview, one of more than 10 additional BBC interviews conducted on Friday, came a day after the BBC announced that it would not resume filming the latest series of Top Gear following co-presenter and former England cricket captain Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff being injured in a crash at the show’s Surrey test track in December.
Mr Klein discussed health and safety standards on the programme, which he said were higher than any other BBC show he is aware of.
Author Brian Klein, pictured here with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, is a BAFTA award-winning TV director whose credits include Top Gear, The Grand Tour, and A League of Their Own Roadtrip. After the breakout success of his debut novel, political thriller The Counterfeit Candidate, he has just released its sequel The Führer’s Prophecy.
The Führer’s Prophecy by bestselling author Brian Klein is out now, published through Spirit Entertainment.
Mr Klein also revealed some fascinating behind-the-scenes secrets of the hit show, and also spoke about his new novel, political thriller The Führer’s Prophecy, which has topped the book charts after its publication through Spirit Entertainment earlier this month.
It is the sequel to his 2021 debut, The Counterfeit Candidate, which was penned during the Covid-19 lockdown and became an Amazon number one bestseller book with more than 75,000 sales.
An eight-part TV adaptation of The Counterfeit Candidate is currently in the works.
As well as directing 28 seasons of the BBC flagship show Top Gear, Mr Klein has worked with presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May on Amazon’s The Grand Tour.
